What qualities are required to be a successful manager?
A successful manager is one who can operate irrespective of geography, time and technology. This way, he will be able to meet the demands and challenges of both local and global environments. Also, managing is more a matter of attitude. For instance, an attitude of ownership, to succeed, to see that your team is at the top, will stand a manager in good stead. What are yourhobbies? Work and family are my only hobbies. I don’t really have the time to pursue anything else. I do not have the time to read books. But I do read book extracts in papers and magazines. I don’t even have the time to read newspaper stories. Usually, I end up scanning just the headlines and read only the first paragraph, to give me a gist of what is happening. Where do you see yourself in 10 years? I haven’t looked that far. Though ideally I would like to retire and spend my time reading, gardening and writing a book.
