What qualifies for the pre-1900 lit requirement?
Qualifying courses focus on a time period, movement, or author publishing before 1900. Unless the course title indicates that it is a pre-1900 class, a genre or themed class in itself will not fulfill the requirement, even if it includes some pre-1900 literature. If you have a question about whether a particular class meets the requirement, check with your advisor and with the MFA director.
