Is it safe to assume that when the CBAP® Handbook refers to professional development hours (and credit hours in the application form), that it is referring to Professional Development Units? The reason I ask is that the order of magnitude between PDU’s and CEU’s is about ten fold. Meaning that 21 PDU’s = 2.1 CEU’s. The difference would be a single course or 10 courses. For initial certification, the term IIBA® uses is Professional Development hours or PD hours when referring to the requirement. PDU is a Project Management Institute (PMI) term. On the application form for the professional development section, the applicant is asked to fill in the number of Credit Hours for the course. 1 hr of PD = 1 Credit Hour which usually equals 1 hour of classroom time.
