What qualifies for an exemption from the CES requirement?

Exemptions may be granted for three reasons: • Severe medical difficulties for at least the last 3 months of the probation year (this includes members of your immediate family) • An unexpected/nonpermanent overseas assignment for more than 6 months or the last 3 months of the membership year • Severe financial hardship Other unusual circumstances may be considered but must be reviewed by AIA/CES. Documentation is required. Please fill out the AIA CES Exemption Form if your circumstances meet the above.
