What qualifies as extracurricular activities, volunteer work, and jobs on a college application?
Extracurricular activities will usually be sports, clubs, theatrical/musical groups or hobbies you enjoy doing. Playing a musical instrument will count – but will definitely look better if you have credentials to back them up, such as RCM certificates. Jobs can be self-employed, but they will want you to describe them and how they contribute to your character/personality. Volunteer work is obvious unpaid work hours, such as in a hospital. Designing menus could go under your extracurricular activities.
