What qualifies as a student-learner exception under the Child Labor Law Hazardous Orders?
There is an exception to the US Child Labor Law Hazardous Orders that permits youth under 18 to do “hazardous” work, e.g. operate power tools, work on roofs, if they are student-learners. In the interest of developing a youth service-learning program that would involve helping to rebuild homes for disaster victims, I welcome your advice regarding qualifications for service-learning exceptions under the Child Labor Law.
