What qualifies an orphan for the GlobalFingerprints program?
A child is an orphan, according to Webster, when they are “deprived by death of one or usually both parents.” Some orphans in the GlobalFingerprints program do have one natural parent living, but in most cases, the parent is extremely ill and cannot care for the child. Half of the orphans in the program must also be un-churched, as GlobalFingerprints is an outreach program of the Congolese church.
