A.The equivalent or higher academic degree than that sought by the student. NCM considers Midwifery Certification or Licensure equivalent to ASM. Additionally preceptors must be one of the following: Licensed Midwife, Midwife holding College-approved certification by my state midwifery organization, Certified Nurse Midwife, Physician Assistant Midwife, Licensed Physician practicing obstetrics. All preceptors must have had at least one year of on-the-job experience since licensure/certification.
