What qualifications do u need to become a forensic scientist?
If you really want it, it’s never too late. To work in the lab, you need at least a bachelor’s degree in one of the physical sciences–chemistry, physics, or biology. Some universities also have the combine “forensic science” degree which is based in chemistry and crime labs accept that degree too. If you want to be a crime scene investigator there are a couple different paths–it degepends on the individual police departments. At some departments the CSIs are police officers. In that case, you would have to go through the police academy, become an officer, and do a few years on the road before applying to crime scene when there was an opening. Crime scene is a specialized unit so you would be competing against other officers, but while you do your road time you would also get some elective training in crime scene investigation through your department.
