There are several qualifications. First, if your country has a national trials, you need to qualify by those rules. Usually the top three performers at the trials qualify for the Olympics. Second, you need to be at the Olympic standard marks for the events. I don’t know them offhand, but someone listed them earlier. The marks must be beaten in a sanctioned meet, before a certain date. Now in order to even think of throwing that far, it takes a lot. All four of them need a certain amount of speed and strength that are well beyond the capabilities of most people. It takes lots of strength and power training to even be physically able to throw that far. On top of that, technique is immensely important. Most of the time, being tall helps. It is possible to throw at the world-class level without being tall, but most short people are too discouraged to even try. An aspiring thrower should find a good coach who will train the athlete wisely, both physically and practicing throwing technique.
