What qualifications do hypnotherapists need to practice in the UK?
At this point in time hypnotherapists are not regulated in the UK – there is no Hypnosis UK – wide organisation that governs standards – that said The NCH, which is part of UKCHO is working towards regulation in line with the National Occupational Standards – I hope this happens soon, so that the public will be reassured and safe in the hands of only well qualified therapists. Definitions of my hypnotherapy qualifications can be viewed here. PNLP stands for Practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming and MAR stands for Member of the Association of Reflexologists, DHP(NC) is a diploma in hypno-psychotherapy awarded by the National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy – this qualification leads to registration with UKCP after 4 years post graduate development.
