What qualifications are required of Guides?
Driver/Guides on safari are required to hold a valid driving license and to have had at least 2 years training in wildlife management, conservation and animal behavior. All of Africats safari drivers have had at least 5 years experience of guiding tours in the bush in addition to the above. All mountain guides must be licensed by KINAPA (Kilimanjaro National Park Authority). The guides must be familiar with the various trails of Mt. Kilimanjaro, recommended safety measures, evacuation methods and emergency health care provision.
