What qualifications and skills do i need to become a primary school teacher?
Certainly the most direct route will be to take your A-levels now, and then apply for a teacher training degree. Most importantly, you need to have grade C in your GCSEs for English, Mathematics & Science, so if you didn’t achieve any of those then your first task is to re-sit those that you need to. Choosing your A-levels will depend on your personal preferences, but bear in mind that you will probably want to include at least one standard National Curriculum subject to help you to specialise as a teacher. During your second year of A-levels, you will then need to apply to universities for a place on a course of teacher training, which will normally last 3 or 4 years.
