I’m a mature student currently studying an Interior Design degree. I don’t really have any relevant GCSE’s or A Levels, I just fancied doing it. Based on the kinds of things I have studied I would say you definitely need Art GCSE, any kind of design/technology subject, English, Maths and probably IT. Physics might be useful too, because you need to understand the qualities of light and how colour is perceived. The same kinds of arts subjects would apply for A Level as well. Also, some colleges will offer a National Diploma in Interior Design which might be useful to you. I am studying with the University of Stafford, but that’s more for convenience than anything else. Have a look at the different universities and see which ones you like the look of. It is your talent that is important, not the name of the university. Good Luck.
