What Puts Huntsman Hall in the Hall of Shame?

0

Huntsman Hall was not built to serve the community. It was built to serve the students of the University of Pennsylvania for classes and studying. If UPenn wanted this building to be a public building, they wouldn’t require one to swipe his/her PennCard to get in. There are other areas of the UPenn campus intended for more public use, including Hamilton Village/Superblock, 40th Street, Annenberg Plaza, Locust Walk, Levy Park, Hill Square, University Square…etc. While Huntsman Hall is certainly not an architectural masterpiece, it was never intended to be a public resource and cannot be assailed for failing to do something it never set out to do.
