What purpose could possibly be served by arguing over the definition/s of racism?

Because mere bigotry and prejudice are often mislabled racism. If one susbscribes to the idea that you must be in a position of power to be racist then clearly all whites are not capable of being racist, as unpopular as that idea may be among some. Many on YA love to retort that blacks cannot be racist, and maybe so this is so based on that definition, but clearly they can be bigots and prejudiced. Apparently arguing over the accepted definition stems from the terms “racist” and “racism” being so commonly used as the end all be all of accusations. Silly nonsense from those that took too well to the misinformation that public school and current mass media offer.
