Some pet food companies are very sneaky. The ingredients have to be listed in descending order of proportion just like human food. So if the the food is 50% grain, 30% meat and 20% water, then they are supposed to list the ingredients as grain, meat, water in that order. But they don’t have to list the actual proportions. So to make you think that their food is mostly meat, they’ll break the grain down as (for example) 25% soy and 25% oats which allows them to list the ingredients (in descending order) as: meat, soy, oats, water. Remember this the next time you see one of their “we-love-your-pet-more-than-you-do” TV commercials.
