Answer There is a legitimate concern about any charitable project’s overhead costs verses services delivered. • All of funds received by “US Friends of Lema’an Achai” are used for Lema’an Achai programs. • All of funds received by the “Northern Refugee Fund” of Lema’an Achai are designated to helping these refugees from the war in the North. • “100%” doesn’t exist in life. There are of course directly related bank charges, etc, which are unavoidable and need to be deducted from funds received at one end, to give a ‘net’ amount for funds distributed and used for the refugees. 95% is a more conservative guestimate. • In the (happy) event that funding is no longer required (the war ends, people go home, etc) any excess funds will be used for other critical charitable purposes (see www.lemaanachai.org for what we do when there’s no national emergencies).
