What property taxes do Edgemont residents pay?
In Edgemont, property taxes are primarily spent on (i) our schools, for which Edgemont residents pay a separate school tax determined by an Edgemont-elected Board of Education; (ii) police, sanitation, parks, recreation, zoning, planning and local court services, for which Edgemont residents pay a tax to the Town of Greenburgh; and (iii) fire, sewer and water services, for which Edgemont residents pay a tax to separate fire, sewer and water districts. Fire protection is provided by the Greenville Fire District. By law, if Edgemont were to incorporate as a village, the Greenville Fire District would lose “district” status and could become the Edgemont Fire Department. The Greenburgh budget is a complex set of figures. Links to the Budget and Financial statements can be found in the Document page of this site.
