UNDP invites participation from prospective emission reduction projects in developing countries (Clean Development Mechanism projects) and economies-in-transition (Joint Implementation projects) that have ratified the Kyoto Protocol. In accordance with the MDG Carbon Facility’s objectives, of particular interest are projects in countries that are under-represented in the carbon emission market and projects that make strong contributions to the MDGs. The Facility provides its services to a wide range of project types. These diverse technologies include renewable energy, energy efficiency, fuel switching, agricultural waste management, biomass and biogas usage, and capture of fugitive emissions from landfills and industrial sources.
