What progress has London Borough of Harrow made in the last year?
Harrow is performing well and Council services are improving in line with clear priorities, including, education, planning, benefits and recycling. Fifty five per cent of performance indicators have improved since 2002/03 and overall satisfaction with the Council is increasing. Less improvement is evident in some services, most notably adult and children’s social care. The Council is negotiating a Local Area Agreement to contribute to community outcomes such as community cohesion. The Council’s approach to value for money is adequate but there is scope for further improvement. The New Harrow Project is nearing completion and has delivered major reorganisation.
