What progress has Croydon London Borough Council made in the last year?
Outcomes for citizens are improving in many services and community priorities which the Council delivers with its partners. For example, social care continues to perform well. Several types of crime are reducing. The Council has focused on services where public satisfaction was previously low, such as street cleaning and leisure, and secured improvement. However, further improvement is needed in a few services such as special educational needs and recycling. Most services are not high cost, perform relatively well, and therefore provide value for money. Overall, outcomes continue to improve for Croydon citizens. The Council has put in place clear plans to deliver sustained improvement. It knows what it wants to achieve and monitors progress systematically.
