Visual RPG Express supports two types of languages: • Fixed-format languages, including: • RPGIII, RPGIV, and DDS (all variations) • Free-format languages, including: • C, C++, HTML, Pascal, Java, Net.Data, COBOL, PL/I, Rexx, Fortran, Lisp The fixed format language support includes full prompting, tabbed-entry (eliminating the need to prompt), token highlighting and AutoCorrect. In addition, several other support features unique to RPG and DDS are included, such as the Procedure Wizard, Data structure Wizard, and automatic bookmarks to subroutines, procedures and record formats. The support for free-format languages, such as HTML, COBOL, and C++ is much less powerful, and somewhat generic. Most of these types of languages are supported by token highlighting and host system integration.
