The undergraduate track in Speech-Language-Hearing provides a comprehensive understanding of the physical, biological, and linguistic bases of speech, language, hearing. Hence students receive a solid foundation in the structure and processes involved in normal speech and language production and perception and in hearing. Students interact with instructors who are theorists, researchers, and clinicians. The undergraduate degree does not, however, by itself provide the training necessary to become a Speech/Language Pathologist. To become a professional in this area requires a graduate degree with extensive clinical education and experience.
