My best advise is to go to Home Depot or Lowe’s and take a class. Laying a tile floor is not a beginners project. As far as what you use, a mortar mix designed for use with floor tile, of course the ceramic tiles and then a coordinating tile grout. Before you even attempt it though, you need to make sure the entire surface area is completely clean and free us all dust and debris. Then you will have to figure out how you are going to lay the tiles. As most interior walls are not plumb, use an outside wall as your guide, but measure it out to start in the center of the room. Make allowances for the entryways as you want the tiles to be centered in them. If you have to go around an Island or peninsula, you really need to get the measurements correct. Make sure you buy enough tile to account for waste and mistakes. Good Luck and honestly, I would hire someone to do it.
