I have very curly hair, and after years of suffering, have found the info and advice at naturallycurly.com to be a life-saver. The general consensus is to stay away from silicone-containing products, which unfortunately means almost every kind of conditioner made for curly, frizz-free hair these days. Silicone builds up on curly hair worse than other types because of its porousity, as do shampoos with sulfates (most of them). I have abandoned all silicone products from my hair routine, and went with something called the ‘Curly Girl’ routine – no shampoo (using conditioner like a shampoo). It has made my hair soft and curlier than ever before, not to mention healthier. But if you’re not up for something as extreme, getting away from silicone products (that do nothing but coat the hair, not hydrate it) should help cut down
