What production levels are manufactures planning for the rest of the decade?
Presently, Ford produces about 24,000 hybrid vehicles annually. Recently, Ford announced global plans to produce 250,000 hybrid vehicles annually by 2010. Worldwide, Toyota has sold more than 1 million hybrids since 1997 and hopes to increase that number to a million hybrids a year by the early 2010s, with 60% of sales coming from the US.
