What Produces the Gases?
The main reason why the content of these gases increases in the atmosphere is human ativity: burning fossil fuel. There are natural causes too: burning of forests and pasture (for example Australia and California). The forest plays an important role in absorbing carbon dioxide and the provision of oxygen and, hence, regulates the global temperature, and reduces the greenhouse effect and global warming. There are several reasons for a constant increase of the concentration of greenhouse gases. The bulk comes from carbon dioxide formed during combustion of fossil fuels (coal, oil, natural gas); the use of fossil fuels is growing every year. Now the annual emissions of CO2 in the atmosphere of the world account for about 25 billion tons, with the industrialized countries contributing the most (about 75% of total emissions greenhouse gas emissions). It’s not only CO2 to be blamed. Gradually the content of methane increases in the atmosphere due to the development of intensive rice cultivat
