What process has EPA gone through to develop the Draft Landfill BPEM?
EPA undertook a scoping study in mid 2009 to determine the parts of the existing Landfill BPEM that required updating. The scoping stage identified sections of the existing document that required updating and where new technical guidance was required. Industry experts, including consultants and academics, and EPA technical experts undertook research and analysis to determine the best practice environment standards for landfills in Victoria. The revised guidance on landfill gas and buffers was then reviewed by Industry experts to provide EPA feedback.
