What procedures are in place to handle emergencies?

An emergency plan is made and thoroughly discussed with the patient and family during the first visit and is posted in the home and included in the care plan. This is reviewed frequently with the patient and family during the course of our care in the home. A RN is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to handle questions, problems, etc. However, UHHS is not an emergency service. For more information on Medicare-certified agencies and home health care, please go to Home Health Compare at or call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227). Michigan Home Health Association is another good resource for consumer information at or call them at 517-349-8089.
