• Request a Gift-in-Kind packet from Development Services at 314-935-5800 or Gift Endowment Accounting at 314-935-5702. For gifts of real estate, the receiving department should also contact the Treasurers Office. • The School/Department may send IRS Form 8283 (Non-Cash Charitable Contributions) with instructions to the donor or refer the donor to the IRS web site,http://www.irs.gov/formspubs/index.html to obtain the Form 8283. (Also see IRS Publication 526 (Charitable Contributions), 561 (Determining the Value of Donated Property), and 1771 (Charitable Contributions-Substantiation and Disclosure Requirements). • The donor is required to obtain an appraisal (if the gift is valued at $5,000 or more) and complete the Form 8283.
