What procedure is required to obtain a POD approval?
• County Staff Review: Before the request is heard by the Board of Supervisors or the Planning Commission, the plans are distributed to members of the county staff for review and comment. Prior to the public hearing, a meeting is held between the applicant and/or his representative and the county staff to discuss the proposal in relation to the departmental comments. • Planning Commission Review: The Planning Department staff presents the proposal to the Planning Commission. The applicant and/or his representative then have the opportunity to respond to the proposal. Anyone else present who is interested in the proposal will also have an opportunity to speak. Following discussion of the proposal, the Planning Commission takes action in one of four ways: by granting approval as submitted, by granting approval with revisions and/or conditions, by denial or by deferral of the request. If the development plan is for a publicly owned facility (school, library, park), the procedure is the sa
