Answer the injections are called SCLEROTHERAPY and there are different soluions for the injections, each doc has their favorite solution (we like sotradechol) but he could also do what is called ambulatory phlebectomy, these are tiny “stabs” thru which he removes the offending vein. there is some bruising after, but it goes away like any other bruise and leaves what looks like a freckle where the phlebectomy is done, but with scleroterapy (especially if you are fair skinned) you can get brown “lines” where the blue ones are now….so look up sclerotherapy VS ambulatory phlebectomy- see what you think about the risks VS benefits. anyway look up sclerotherapy… we usually wait 4-6 months to see anything at all has to be done after the closure.
