Hi J, Sorry to be gloomy but uncontrolled growth of population will likely lead to the same outcome for us as the uncontrolled growth of cells in the human body [e.g., cancer]. A population collapse with “nature” solving the problems that too many people caused is the outcome I expect. I have to laugh at those who think that concern about human extinction isn’t appropriate. In the future, while nobody wants to submit their individual urges to a concern for the welfare of all, social mores and laws like those in China are likely to dictate some severe limits on family size. As the result of too many people chasing too few goods becomes apparent and the consequences of uncontrolled population increases becomes clear to even the most ill-informed among us, I suspect that draconian measures will likely be instituted.
