What problems are to be expected with a Shitz Tsu ?
To be honest, it just sounds like she’s been unlucky. Common problems with the breed are: – Ear / Eye infections – Respiratory problems – Back issues because of the short legs / long body – Bad teeth (they tend to lose them early compared to other breeds) – Weight issues (very easy to overfeed) With regards to the urinary infection, I’d guess this was caused by the spaying which again could just be down to bad luck. As you’ll know any operation, no matter how routine or dangerous, can result in complications and it’s just a case of being patient and keeping an eye on things until they clear up.
