What private sector companies are involved in building the NCIH?
The principle companies involved at this time are Southern Bell, Sprint/Carolina Telephone and GTE. Another major player will be Access/On, which is comprised of 14 of the 25 remaining N.C. telephone companies. Almost all of the remaining 11 exchange companies in the state will be involved in the project. All telephone companies in North Carolina have endorsed the project through the N.C. Telephone Association.
