What preservatives are in Lavish products?
Many of our products do not need preservatives, such as our bar soaps, powdered bath products, lip care, mineral makeup, perfumes, essential oils, diffuser oils and candles. Oil based products such as massage oils and body scrubs, are enhanced with vitamin E, grapefruit seed extract, rosemary extract and black willowbark. These natural plant derivatives extend the shelf life of the oils by preventing oxidation (rancidity). Water-based products such as air fresheners, toners and mists contain potassium sorbate This safe additive ensures that the water and herbal infusions resist growth of bacteria. Creams and lotions require the addition of an antimicrobial preservative. Lavish has selected Cosmocil (polyaminopropyl biguanide) because it is safe, mild, and non-irritating. This preservative was developed for the contact lens industry and is often found in baby care products.
