WHAT PREOP TESTS DOES DR. SMITH REQUIRE?
This will vary per patient and be dependent on current health, medical history etc. Everyone will have upper GI or Upper Endoscopy, a Pulmonary clearance, and a Psychiatric evaluation. Comprehensive bloodwork is required. An ultrasound of the gallbladder is done, unless its been previously removed. If the patient has any special problems, such as heart problems, those are evaluated by appropriate consultants and studies.
