What precautions does GEMCo take to ensure that it isn purchasing stolen items?

GEMCo requires each seller to present a government issued ID such as a driver’s license, passport, or military ID to properly identify the seller to ensure that they are at least 18 years old. In some cities, we are required to also take thumbprints. All invoices are turned in to the local law enforcement agency for comparison to reported stolen items. If a match comes up, GEMCo provides the items in question to the agency for detail comparison.
