A volunteer needs to consult a physician in his or her country for any kind of vaccination that requires for international travelling. A volunteer will get assistance at times of his or her need in health related issues during volunteering in Nepal. It is appreciable if you can bring a small first-aid kit with you and sufficient doses of the medicine, if anyone is taking a prescribed medicine before coming to Nepal. All host families are trained and made aware of maintaining quality of hygiene including germ-free food and water.
