As a general rule, a temperature between 60 – 80 degree Fahrenheit and a relative humidity between 40% and 60% is recommended. Cassettes stored or casually laid on the dashboard or in the glove compartment of an automobile can be damaged by the heat generated by strong sunlight. Secondly, if the take is exposed to strong magnetic field could result in erasure of the recorded tracks in an irregular way. Compact Discs (CD) can get damaged if it is exposed to high temperature, which may result in bending of CD. Secondly CD’s should be handled carefully to avoid getting scratch marks on its surface.
