What power systems are in place for emergency backup at Gene Logic?
Gene Logic“s temperature controlled data center and critical laboratory equipment are served by a UPS system, which is connected to an emergency generator outside of the facility. Much of the non-critical equipment is tied directly into emergency generator outlets. The generator is tested on a weekly basis. There is also regular preventive maintenance on all generators. There are fire alarms and sprinklers throughout the facilities, and these are tested on a regular basis. In the event of an emergency, the system contacts a Gene Logic staff person on call. Coverage is 24/7/365.
