Answer Dear Shiva, microwave power settings really have no correlation to oven temperatures except that at high power and high temperature foods cook faster. Most microwave recipes should be cooked on high power. If you are cooking a tough cut of meat you would cook on a lower power setting so the meat would simmer until tender. Of course it would take much longer to cook on lower power. The best things to cook by microwave are vegetables, rice and grains, stews, poultry, fish and shellfish, pulses, sauces and lamb. Another reason to use lower poser is when a dish is boiling over. Use a lower poser to keep the liquid in the dish. Your cookware should be fine for almost everything you would cook by microwave. Don’t try to fry anything in oil or the dish will melt. Also, use glass and ceramic dishes for your recipes and you’ll never have any problems.
