What power does the Queen of Englad have? And what is her source of income?
For our friends over the Atlantic who dont realise please pass this on to everybody you know… Queen Elizabeth II is the reigning monarch of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The Kingdom includes the member nations of England and Scotland, and the principalties of Wales and Northern Ireland. In other words Britain does not equal England. In fact if anything the Queen is actually half Scottish, her mother being of the Scottish Bowes-Lyon family. Also it has to be said that it was a Scottish King (James 6th of Scotland and 1st of England) who actually united the two kingdoms. Anyway now that’s out of the way the monarch has no political power as such however she is the Head of State and goes on official visits abroad and welcomes other world leaders to this country. She also is the only person who can declare when the country is at war and when a war is over however the government will advise on this.
