I am inherently optimist. I am a Nepali rooted in Nepal. I have not taken a penny out of Nepal. Knowing the reality of Nepal, I believe that whichever government that comes into power will encourage investment, at least in the policy level. The main concern is whether the encouragement that the top leaders are keen to provide will be agreeable to their followers – i.e. the labours. So, labour is the most risky point at present . I hope there will be an understanding between industries and labours at some point in the future. Yes, the employees have been exploited in the past. Employees must be treated fairly. However, the fair deal should also take the employing companies’ financial ability to compensate into consideration. There is a need to amend the Labour Law. It should incorporate provisions that ensure fair treatment to employees as well as a provision to ensure that labours do not interfere with the management. It may take time to make these adjustments. So, I will not invest in
