What ports need to be opened on my firewall software or Windows XP SP 2 Firewall?
For BrowseControl v4.X and above: Under the default settings, the following TCP ports must be available open the server: 3050, 8990, 8991 For BrowseControl v3.X and below: Under the default settings, the following TCP ports must be available open the server: 3050, 8998, 8999 Also, the following UDP port should be available on the client for remote message purposes: 8999 To make these changes on Windows XP, access the Control Panel -> Windows Firewall, select the Exceptions tab, click on the Add Port button and add the above ports.
