The company has opened a 29,000 square-foot distribution center in Miramar that will serve markets within about a 100-mile radius of Miami with a total population of approximately six million people. Driver salesmen are being hired from the local area to work at the new Blue Bell branch office. The new branch will have a start up staff of around 32 people, about a third more than the average new Blue Bell branch. In honor of the 101-year-old company’s entry into the South Florida market, it is introducing a brand new ice cream flavor this is exclusive to the area. Tropical Paradise Ice Cream is a coconut ice cream blended with crushed pineapples, roasted macadamia nuts and a refreshing pineapple coconut sauce swirl.
