What policies assist lawyers in balancing work and family obligations?
We recognize that parenting and work-family balance issues are not faced exclusively by women, and so we offer to all Associates a combination of paid and unpaid parental leave, a dependent care assistance plan and access to an emergency day care center located next door to the office. We also offer a flexible reduced work schedule policy to assist our lawyers who are raising their children or caring for family members. Over the past five years, more than 50 of our lawyers – Partners and Associates, men and women – have utilized the leave and part-time programs. With the encouragement and support of the firm, lawyers at Foley Hoag are able to successfully balance practicing at the highest levels of their profession while enjoying active family and social lives outside of their careers.
