ProCurve PoE ports support the IEEE 802.3af standard. Some pre-standard devices have also been successfully tested with the ProCurve 3500yl and 5400zl switches. The Series 5400zl switches are used as a Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) device providing PoE power to the Powered Devices (PDs) through the 24 Gig-T PoE module (J8702A), or the 20-port Gig-T plus 4 mini-GBIC PoE module (J8705A).
