What plays are used for the production?
So far, the plays are all newly written by Len Cuthbert. This doesn’t mean that this will always be the case, but one reason for this is it is difficult to find a script that involves a cast of 18 children or youth, with all parts gender flexible, incorporates music and choreography as well as a positive value or virtue, and is about 20 to 30 minutes long. We don’t ask much. Purchasing scripts and the rights to perform are an added expense.
So far, the plays are all newly written by Len Cuthbert. Len has been writing scripts for about 20 years with several produced and published. This doesn’t mean that this will always be the case, but the scripts need to be designed around a central theme, with the ability to adjust for a varying number of cast members and have as many gender neutral parts as possible. This makes last minute changes for the different sizes and types of groups possible.
